One of my earliest memories of Aunt Nancy was the house in Wilmette. When I was lucky enough to have a sleepover there. She allowed me to choose what color plastic cup I wanted for my mile since I was a guest. I took great joy in this. The cups were so fancy that they had straws built right into them. I think I chose yellow, which is a color I still like.
Years later in grade school, I visited the Feits in Massachusetts. I joined her for a few walks along the winding roads of Earisle. She also taught me how to make yummy apple crisp.
What has remained constant throughout her life was her kind heart and genuine interest in those around her, which was displayed, in her radiant smile. It gives me solace knowing that Anne, Claudia and Clare inherited her beautiful smile. She lives on through them each day.
